📖 Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Mala-Jaap ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

These Terms are entered into between you and kanivika (hemantbhartigoswami9@gmail.com), the developer of the App.

📱 About the App

Mala-Jaap is a spiritual mantra counting application that helps users track their jap (mantra repetition) practice. The App provides:

• Digital mala (prayer bead) counting for various mantras and deity names.
• Daily and weekly history tracking of your spiritual practice.
• Cloud backup and restore via Google Drive or our server.
• Multi-language support for a diverse spiritual community.

✅ Permitted Use

You may use the App for personal, non-commercial spiritual practice. Specifically, you are permitted to:

1. Download and install the App on your personal Android device.
2. Use all features of the App for your own personal spiritual practice.
3. Backup your data using the Google Drive or server sync features.
4. Share the App with family and friends by referring them to the Play Store.

❌ Prohibited Use

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App.
• Use the App for any unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purpose.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our servers or other users' data.
• Use automated tools to scrape, harvest, or extract data from the App.
• Misrepresent yourself or your affiliation with any person or entity.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the App.

🔐 User Accounts & Google Sign-In

To use cloud sync features, you may sign in with your Google Account. By doing so, you agree that:

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google Account.
• You will not share your account credentials with others.
• We are not responsible for any loss resulting from unauthorized use of your account.
• You can sign out at any time from the Settings screen in the App.

📢 Advertisements

The App is free to use and is supported by advertisements served by Google AdMob. By using the App, you agree to the display of advertisements. Some features may require watching a rewarded ad to unlock functionality.

☁️ Data & Backup Services

Regarding the backup and sync features:

• We make reasonable efforts to keep your data safe, but cannot guarantee 100% uptime or data permanence.
• You are responsible for maintaining your own backups using the built-in backup feature.
• We reserve the right to delete server-side data after extended periods of inactivity (12+ months).
• The "Restore from Server" operation will overwrite your local data — use it with caution.

🛡️ Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses. Your use of the App is at your own risk.

⚖️ Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, kanivika shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of spiritual progress records, or any other losses arising from your use of or inability to use the App.

🔄 Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. We will notify users of significant changes through the App or by updating the "Last updated" date on this page.

Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

🇮🇳 Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.
